چکیده

Utilization of treated wastewater (TWW) for agricultural purposes has grown over the past few years because limited available water resources. This study was performed to assess long-term irrigation from Wadi-Musa region on accumulation heavy metals in soil and their uptake translocation various parts olive trees. Fifteen year old trees that had been irrigated with resources since establishment were used this study. Irrigation water, soil, plant samples (root, stem bark, leaves, fruits) collected chemically analyzed metal content. Accumulation found be within acceptable range safe use according standards WHO. However, continuous TWW resulted significant when compared levels soil. Uptake consistent among highest concentrations Fe, Mn, Pb Zn, lowest Ni, Cr Cd. Assessment bioaccumulation factor (BFC) factors (TF) into different indicated selective absorption partitioning these parts. High BCF values observed Cu Ni roots fruits, Cd leaves. Translocation ions variable Fruits TF Cu, Zn metals, Mn while leaves have Pb. The results indicate are accumulators, caution should considered periodic assessment possible hazards, especially fruits oil quality is required.
